Generally child support belongs to the recipient parent and ends when the child turns 18 or graduates high school. Their can be private agreements, later made part of the Order of the Court, that extend that time. Since it is April now, the child support could have already stopped, or be ending next month.

An 18 year old is viewed as an adult. An adult can petition the court that issued the support order to redirect payment. It isn't clear how well such a claim would be viewed by different Kansas judges. An 18, for whom support is still being paid to their mother, might contact the father to see if payments might be redirected. If you are that 18 year old, you should consult directly with a probate or family law attorney very soon. It is unlikely that you could disgorge payments already made to your mother.

Good luck
