Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

assets

Prior to marriage he owned a house and I have a house. After 2 1/2 years of marriage he sold his and we lived in mine for 2 1/2 until we bought another house together. I still have my house. I was wondering if he could get any monies from my house if we divorced. Or on another senerio if I sold the house could he claim any of the monies I recieved from the sales of that one?

Thanks

Re: assets

Once you file for divorce, any asset you have comes under the jurisdiction of the court. This means the court can divide any and all assets. However, this does not mean they will be divided in half. I would try to come to an agreement instead of having the court decide. Hope this helps.
