Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas
Do I need an attorney to modify my child support
My ex and I have been divorced for 3 yrs. We have joint custody of our two children (18 and 15). Our original decree stipulated that he pay child support. A little over a year ago, one of our two children decided to live with his dad (which lasted about 3 mo) and my ex had me sign a form releasing him from his support obligation. My son is now 18, doesn't live with either of us and I want my ex to pay child support for our daughter. I have had to work 2 jobs in the past just to keep my head above water and am tired. How do I get this done? Do I need an attorney?

Re: Do I need an attorney to modify my child support
There should be an SRS attorney in your jurisdiction who monitors the payment of child support every 3 years; contact that office and they may be able to recalculate child support for you. . .if not, definitely contact legal support. The law interprets child support as the right of your child and you are responsible to assure that such support is paid in the child's behalf.
