Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

Ex Boyfriend is a Thief

I lived with a man for a year and he had no job so I was the sole provider for that period for a family of 5. I worked long hours and was ill also at the time. We had a joint checking account at the time and he made promises to marry me. While I was at work he spent most of my divorce settlement money and the money I made at work buying tvs furniture and a 98 Triton boat. The boat costs approx $30,000. When I left I left with the clothes on my back. He has much of personal things yet to this day. He made comments to the neighbors about my having an accident and that he was only keeping me until he got all the material possessions he wanted. Since then I have found out that he has a history of praying on divorced women for their settlements and is very mentally abussive. What I want to know is do I have any recourse and is there any way I can get any of the property back. I left there penniless and had no means to seek legal counsel at the time to challenge this man. Since that time I have been diagnosed with some major heart conditions. This man took me to financial ruins. He did not work for the money so I don't feel he has any right to the possessions that my hard labor paid for. Thank you.
