Re: Child Age and Custody?

A KS Court will consider all facts relevant to what is in the best interest of children; seldom is it seen to be appropriate to split children. . .theory being:. . .parents already split, that stability is gone. To divide the children further erodes their feeling of stability. KS Statute provides that a court MAY, not SHALL, consider the wishes of a child who has reached age 14 or more. I would be very concerned for the 8 yr old if the older siblings suddenly moved elsewhere at their age.
