Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas
Child custody
My daughter's father whom has temp custody of her in the state of KS has admitted to molesting her and is facing other multiple charges. I'm next in line to get custody, will I have to petition the court or will it be a automatic placement since I'm intouch with SRS there and the Detective?

Re: Child custody
You should, but you don't mention who has custody now. If the Dept of Children & Families took the child then you may have to go thru them. Is that SRS?
I agree you should probably have a lawyer, help, but, at least, get to Court and make your presence and wishes known.
Re: Child custody
You should always make your wishes known to the court, especially since you did not have residential custody. Consult an experienced family law attorney in the county where the children reside.
