Re: Child Custody in Kansas

Kansas law says that a judge must decide whether it is in the best interest of the child to have a paternity test. Sometimes, especially when the child is older, the child may have formed a bond with another man who has served as a father figure. In that case, the judge may not even allow a paternity test. If no paternity (genetic) testing is going to take place, a normal custody hearing will determine the Parenting Plan provisions for the child, including custody. Consult an experienced family law attorney.
