Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

A convoluted case - help...

Court of Appeals in Iowa decided to change primary custody from me to my ex husband who has not lived with our children for 10 years. There really was no reason. He left when I was pregnant with our 3rd, they are now 13,12 and 10. Many details but basically the reasons they decided to move them were 95% false. All the evidence proving the falseness of most of the points was in the record. Part of the decision moved the boys to Kansas from Iowa. Ex did this (Jan 06)without notification and did not let me see the kids for 5 weeks. He has scheduled a tonsilectomy for the boys without asking my opinion or getting my input, and he is now moving out of state to Seattle WA, not to mention he has been out of state most of the boys lives. I do feel the need to take it back to a district court at this point due to the children moving more than a 150 mile radious away from original home. Would it be better to fight this in Kansas or Iowa, Kansas has not looked at it, there were several District Court custody vicories before the Court of Appeals decision was made. I moved to KS in April 1 to share custody, so would be able to work with the case in Iowa and Kansas after 2 months of official residence there. What state do you suggest?

Kansas requires that the children be in Kansas for six (6) months before it is the home state of the children. Sounds like you will need to go back to Iowa.
