Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

Divorce

I have been a stay at home mom since May, 2006 when I got pregnant with my first child. We own two vehicles, but they are both registered in only my husband's name even though he said he bought my Impala for me for my birthday to have something safe to drive the baby around in. My question is, When I file for divirce does he legally get to keep both vehicles, leaving me stranded with two kids and no car?

Re: Divorce

When a divorce is filed, the petitioner has a unique opportunity to request Temporary Orders from the judge without a hearing. Those Temporary Orders control the actions and responsibilities of the parties during the pendency of the divorce. Exclusive possession of one of the family vehicles is a reasonable request for Temporary Orders.
