Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

I went through a divorce two years ago and my ex-wife and I agreed to child support terms. We have 50/50 custody of our daughter so ALL expenses are split down the middle. The reason for the child support is to reimburse my ex for my share of the daycare expenses.

My ex and I are very civil with each other and actually get along very well. Making the monthly child support payments has actually become a nuisance. The daycare fees are starting to vary from month to month and I could just as easily pay her directly in lieu of going through the State. We have discussed this several times homw much easier it would be if we could simply terminate our child support agreement with the State and take care of all these expenses ourselves.

I'm sure there has to be some sort of document that her and I sign that terminates my obligation to pay monthly child support? Does this document exist?

Thanks.

In Kansas, the District Court judge is supposed to make a finding of fact to justify payments being made other than to the Kansas Payment Center. You appear to have a valid reason to justify direct payments, so that could be spelled out in an agreed Order. The cost of the paperwork should be very reasonable.
