Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

Divorce/Residency

In Oklahoma, state law requires a 6 month waiting period after a decree of divorce to become final.

My question(s)is if one of the parties, due to economic reasons had established residency in Kansas, met someone and wanted to re-marry, either in Kansas or any other state, would they still be bound by the 6 month waiting period? Or, would that only apply within the Oklahoma State boundaries?

Re: Divorce/Residency

I know nothing about either Kansas or South Carolina law, but I believe that the law in the state in which the divorce case was filed would control. Thus if South Carolina did not require the waiting period the divorce could be completed without waiting. If South Carolina has a longer waiting period then the parties would have to wait for that time to run.
