petition for emancipation--unsure

I hope someone from Kansas picks up this message. Emancipation is a very confusing and nebulous concept. Ohio doesn't have any statute that emancipates a minor. Although practically speaking it happens frequently. I've even known judges to "emancipate" a minor under "puzzling" circumstances.

If you don't get an answer here try contacting someone on your local juvenile court. Attempt to talk to someone like a referree, magistrate or judge. If they do agree to talk with you (some will and some won't) keep the question general as they probably will not want to get into specifics.

That failing, you will probably have to call around to find an attorney who handles family law matters.
