Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

My granddaughter is living in kansas with her mother, she is threatening to take the child to mexico and to never return. The mother is a mexican citizen but the child was born in the U.S. The mother is here illegally and is hear temporarily until immigration decides what to do with her. My son and the childs mother just split. Is there anything that myself or my son can to do prevent her from taking teh child to Mexico with her.

Your Son should file a Motion to get custody. He should also inform ICE about the situation with the child.
