Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas
What information do I need to prove that I should have custody over my sister instead of our mother.

It is confuing, as to why there is acustody case, if your mother is living, and has not been adjudicated (decided by a court) to be incompetent or incapacitated. If you are at least eighteen yers old, you will need to show that your mother is unfit, to the extent that her parental rights should be terminated. Sometimes this can be proof of abuse that happened while the mother was in control of your sister, and you were not living there. This can be evidence of arrests or Children's division investigation reports.
Be careful, Kansas makes it easy to have children removed, and tougher to prove you shoudl have custody. You coudl get yrou sister way from yrou mother, but also barred form seeing you while she is infoster care. If this status does nto chnge quickly, she coudl get adopted by womeon you don't even know, and nver see her again. Kansas is trying to fix their system, but it is still broken.
Good luck
