Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas
A judgement lien was placed on a mortgage as part of the divorce settlement. The residing party wishes to refinance and the lien holder wants to be out of the mortgage as well. The lien holder has verbally agreed to forgo the lien in order to expedite the process. How can that be accomplished?

A Release of Lien must be recorded, or a Waiver of the lien must be signed by the holder and sent to the lender (and the title company) to end this obstacle to the refinance loan.
