moving ex

My ex-wife has moved from three driffrent states.In every state that she's beign in she has filled for child support by saying that I never gave her a dime. The first is Virgina, but in 1996 she drop the case. Then in 1998 she opened an case in Alaska, and then moved to North Carolina,after moving she close the case in Alaska. Now North Carolina states that I owe back child support over 50,000 dollar. What can I do ?

I would suggest that you seek the advice of an attorney knowledgeable about child support and the interstate procedures involved with the establishment as well as the enforcement and collection of child support orders.

Contact legal counsel. . .then contact the child support enforcement folks in the state where the original court order for support was entered. . .they will assist you. Are u current in payment of your obligation?

Make sure that you pay your child support as ordered through a court trustee program. They will verify payments to the new state. Whereever the original case is filed, it should have a Child Support enforcement unit to receive and handle the funds.
