Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

Open Adoption Agreement not being Honoured

Hello I am a birth mother in the state of Kansas who is supposed to be in an open adoption. According to all the papers I signed I am to receive pictures of my daughter but to date have received nothing. I have written letter after letter to the agency who handled the adoption and to the attorney who handled the adoption for the adoptive parents but to no avail no one will get me pictures of my daughter. I was told by the agency I would have pictures by her 2nd birthday but I have nothing except alot of empty promises. What can I do to get pictures of my daughter?

Re: Open Adoption Agreement not being Honoured

If you are serious about this, you should contact legal counsel where the adoption took place. I assume by 'open adoption', you mean a private contract. . .if that is the case, you may have the basis for a civil, contractual action. Contact legal counsel.
