Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas
Owned before marriage.
I am wandering in Kansas if and when you get married what you own before you get married is your when the marriage is over. And if a house isn't payed off when the marriage begins but gets payed off in the next few years, does the same thing apply. Then as far as other things in the house, how does that work as well! Hope that all makes sense! Thanks!!

Re: Owned before marriage.
Really should confer w/legal counsel. ..the general theory is, unless you had an anti-nuptial agreement in place prior to your marriage, upon filing Petition for Divorce, all property becomes community property and subject to division, depending on the term of the marriage, education of the parties, ability to support themselves, and a miriad of other considerations.
