Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

Paternity Testing

Does the alleged father have to have permission from the mother of their child to get a paternity test taken? If the father were to get it without her consent (or knowing) during the months he has his daughter, can he be prosecuted in any way?

Re: Paternity Testing

No, such an alleged father has an independent right to petition the court to have a paternity test ordered and the mother's consent is not required.
