Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas
Im pregnant and im going to do adoption. The father of my baby and myself dont get along anymore, but before all of this happened we had decided right from the start of the pregnancy that adoption was the best choice for us. However now that we are down to the part of doing the adoption and filling out the paper work and getting him to sign them, he wont. How do i go about this? Does he have to be apart of the adoption for me to go through with it? or does it matter at all from what im thinking so far he does indeed have to be apart of it. However if i dont have to have his help or signature i can do it all on my own, otherwise how do i get him to cooporate?

In almost every case, a curt will not approve an adoption unless the parental rights of both parents are addressed. If he does nto wat to put the baby up for adoption, perhas he wants to keep it. If you wre planning on giving the baby away, why would it matter to you if the father gets the baby or someone else. If he contests the adoption, you may have to answer that question. If he chooses to contest the adoption, he may have to establish paternity.
