We assume there is no legal restriction on your ability to speak to the children by telephone. First send an email to the children's mother and ask for a convenient time for you to call, avoiding bedtimes, mealtimes, etc. When you call later, have a friend listen on an extension or record the call. You may only record calls in which you are a party to the conversation.
