Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

re-marriage

I am the residential parent of our 4 children under joint custody. I wish to re-marry and my ex says that I will loose the children if I do. Can he gain residential custody if I re-marry? If not, can I move and keep residential custody if it is less than an 100 mile move?

Re: re-marriage

The fact that you remarry does not automatically mean you lose residential custody of the childen. It is a factor that the court could consider in determining what is in the best interest of the children. Any move of a child's residence requires advance written notice according to Kansas statutory law. Contact an experienced family lawyer for details.
