my ex had residential custody (our sons choice) before he went to prison for drugs. can he take our son when he gets out? do i need to get the order modified before he gets released?

If you wish to avoid having to send the boys back, you should Move the Court to modify the Custody Order. There may be a good reason to do this before your ex is released.
