Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

I have residential custody of my 4yr old son. My ex and I have joint custody on a week to week basis. I have moved and want to move my child to the new school district. He is now in PreK. My ex also has a history of DUIs and domestic violence. What are my rights if he does not agree to my changes school and him only getting weekends and summer break?

If you violate the custody and vistation Order, you could lose custody and have to start paying support to your ex. If you have moved to another School district, you may be able to trnasfer yrou Son, by giving your ex 60 days notice. Unless yoru Custody ORder says otherwise, this is acommon occurrence as parent don't alwys stay in the same place for life and kids often move with their custodial parent. You may be responsible to pay the added transportation expenses, if the move increases the father's costs of exercising his visitation rights.

Good luck
