Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

revoking parental rights

My sons father has not contacted me in over two years. He lives in Nebraska and we live in Kansas. I would like to know what my options are as far as revoking his parental rights to protect us in the future.

Re: revoking parental rights

If you are remarried, your new spouse could adopt and most likely without the need for the father's consent. As to just terminating his rights without a spouse to adopt, that most likely would not happen. Pardon the expression, but Kansas courts are reluctant to make bastards out of children and terminating one parents rights.
