Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

Social Security Number privacy

My parents are married but have seperate checking accounts and credit cards. My dad filed bankruptcy seperately last year. I found a letter to a lawyer from my dad giving my mom's social security number and bank information out. He is not on any of her accounts. Is that legal to give out that information? What should she do?

Re: Social Security Number privacy

I know of nothing illegal about your father sharing your mother's information with his Bankruptcy attorney, in fact, the attorney probably required him to do so. Is there some problem? Why should your mother need to do anything? Finally, what is your interest in this matter? If you do in fact have some concerns please post another question and try to be more specific. Thank you.
