Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

i have a son that his father took a paternity test for. he still hasn't made any attempt to take me to court to get his name signed on the certificate. So in the mean time if i marry, and my husband adopts him, does his real father still need to make child support payments??

When a valid step-parent adoption takes place, the parental rights of the natural father are relinquished (normally by consent). No child support will be payable after the natural father's parental rights have been terminated.
