Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

Son's safety

My son is 7 and has a medical condition that affects his hormone levels. When he travels or is under unusual stress he has raised levels. He has to visit his father out of state several times a year and this causes damage to him. Is there any way to stop my son from having visitation outside of the state? My divorce was in Montana where my ex is and we live in Kansas. Do I have any options to protect my son's health?

Re: Son's safety

Under certain circumstances, the jurisdiction for child custody and parenting time issues may be changed to the child's current residential jurisdiction. Unless a doctor says the out-of-state visits are a substantial health hazard, it seems unlikely that the trips will be prohibited. More information would be needed to give any reasonable insight as to whether the trips would be affected.
