summons (required to file a written answer or other responsive pleading)

The letter says that ''you are hereby summoned to defend an action brought to you in this courtans serve upon petitioner attorney. and required to file a written answer or other responsive pleading. Now my quetion is How do i do this? Do I need an attorney? And since I live in iowa do I need to travel to Kansas to do this? Please Help!! I know this is not my child and they only give me 20 days to respond..Thanks!!!!

I would suggest that you contact legal counsel. . .not knowing the history behind the allegation of patnernity(?), it is difficult to determine how you should handle this. You might contact KS SRS in the jurisdiction of filing to inquire whether you could access a dna testing through their agency. In any case, do something.
