Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

Unwed father's rights after infant adoption

My brother and ex-girlfriend had a unplanned pregnancy(twins)June 05, 2006. For 6 months he provided her with money and means of transportation (purchased mini-van). She then left his state of residency (North Carolina)in January 2006,and advised him that she was putting the children up for adoption. He was in contact with her via phone weekly, but was only given status as to the health of the unborn children, never location. He tracked her through two adoptions agencies, one in Virginia and ultimately Kansas. The week of March 13th, he was informed that the twin boys were born on March 7 2006 and provided with the name of family and adoption agencies that completed the adoption. At no point in time did my brother provide consent, but at this point he does even know if children are his. What he must do determine paternity? What steps must he then take to fight this adoption and gain custody of children, if indeed his biological children?

Thank you

He needs to find out what county the case is in and file an objection to the adoption on Monday. He needs to contact an attorney NOW, NOW, NOW. Or, he is faced with losing these children forever. www.kansasfamilylawblog.com
