If I wish to allow my ex-husband to quit paying child support, is there a form I must complete and file?

Re: Waiver of child support
It is difficult to answer the question without inquiring as to why child suppoprt is to be terminated. Some reasons are proper, but in most situations it is not proper to stop child support. In any case, an agreement to terminate child support must be approved and filed as an Order of the court. Otherwise, the obligor's payments will continue to accrue as this will show up as an arrearage on the Kansas Payment Center records. If the child support should be stopped (even temporarily) for good reasons, an attorney will be able to prepare an Agreed Order for the judge's signature at little expense.
