Waiving child support/Adoption

If I agreed to waive child support in order for the absent father to sign adoption papers, and then back out of it am I still responsible by verbal agreement?

A parent has no standing (power) to waive child support in the State of KS. . .Parental financial support of a child is the right of the minor child. . .you should be enforcing that right for the benefit of your child.
