Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Kansas
Continual harassment from a minor
Ever since we moved here almost two years ago, we have been continually plagued by inconvenient visitations, requests, telephone calls, etc. from a neighbor (currently seventeen years of age). At first, it was okay as we tried to be friends with this child and good role models since he has mental, emotional, learning, and family problems, plus has been in the SRS sytem for quite some time. But the past several months, this has gotten out of hand and has become an extreme annoyance to us and feels like we're being taken advantage of and harassed. We found out he has constantly lied to us about what really goes on in his life. His mother has not been in his life for many years, so has only his father and stepmother, whom he hasn't lived with for a few months, being sent from group home to foster home and back and forth in the system from one place to another. His father and stepmother have told everyone, including case-workers, lawyers, neighbors, etc., that they don't want him ever living with them again and they give up on him. This leaves the rest of us neighbors trying to handle his irritating and annoying visitations, etc. ourselves. We've complained numerous times to his father but to no avail.

Re: Continual harassment from a minor
You need to call SRS, if he is currently in their system. They may be able to place him in homes that are not in your neighborhood. If teh telephone calls persist, but are not threatening, you may need to change your number of get screening software placed upon your line. Good luck.
