Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Kansas

I was falsely accused of attempting to hit a man with my car at a convenience store - I was repeated cursed at and called profane names, while I tried to ignore the man and went inside the store to purchase my lunch. When I came back out, this man was standing behind my car speaking to the police. The police arrived and I was detained for over 30 minutes while the police viewed video tape of the incident which proved the man was lying. While detained by two policemen in cars with lights flashing two of my co-workers drove by and witnessed me. Is there recourse for having someone completely fabricating a lie and causing me humiliation and embarassment for something that never happened?

Based upon the information you described, you may be able to sue for a tort, like fraud, intentional infliction of emotional distress, etc. You should consult directly with a civil practice attorney, in your area, to determine what type suit and venue is best for you.
