Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Kansas
Personal Property Damage ?
I am being sued by my landlord's ins. co. after my dryer caused the house to burn completely last year. I filed an answer to their petition and a request for their file. Do they have a time limit to provide me with the information and What would I do next? Can I get help from a law student?

Re: Personal Property Damage ?
If you merely ask for the Plaintiff's file, you will likely get nothing. Such a request does not comport with Kansas Discivery rules. You need the assistance of an attorney. A law student might provide advice, but they are not licensed to practice law.
Under the facts you described, you may have valid defenses to the insurer's claim. You should get adequate legal assitance, specific to your case, as soon as possible.
