I am canadian citizen working with TN visa in Kansas for Black&Veatch as Engineering Technician.I have my kids with me,they are on 8th and 7th grade school.I decide to remain in US permanently.Iam informed about H1B visa, witch help us to stay longer and then change in green card. What are the paper neccesary to make this aplication, were should adress this, the cost of it, the chance, how long. My hubent is truck driver-in car carrier, but he can not have TN working visa. How can he work legal in US, what paper should have, can he start working when the paper are steel working? He have already a company taht woud hiring him, and he just wayting for the legal paper. We need a lawyer to represent us, as canadian citizen we have aply as an immigrant anyway?

Re: Permanent or H1B visa

You should look at the H-1B as a "step" toward and not a "substitute" for lawful permanent residence (the "green card") in the United States.

At your request, we can send you our firm's:

"OVERVIEW OF THE H-1B (FORMERLY, H-1) NONIMMIGRANT PROFESSIONAL AND SPECIALTY OCCUPATION WORKER (FORMERLY, DISTINGUISHED MERIT AND ABILITY) VISA PETITION PROCESS".
