Legal Question in Immigration Law in Kansas
I've signed up with my employer's medical benefits on Jan 30th due to a life event. The medical benefits are effective starting on the 30th.
Once getting my paystub (2 weeks later), I've noticed I was charged pro-actively. After a conversation with HR, I was then told that it�s their practice that I�m required to pay the premium starting from Jan 1st (even though my coverage is effective on the 30th). Before signing up, I have called them about the details and they stated that it is pro-rated. They are now refusing to reimburse me or pro-rate the amount.
I would like to ask your advice, if there are laws against this practice? It doesn�t seem right that I have to pay for premiums the days that I was not covered for.

Unfortunately, this is not an immigration issue, so I cannot advise you on this matter.
