Legal Question in Employment Law in Kansas

Image Used w/o Conscent or Compensation in Advertisement

I was used a couple of years ago in a photo shoot at work...My image was used in all sorts of advertisements, trade shows, internet sites, magazines etc.....very successful photo, a posed shot, me only, not a live action type picture but an acted portrayal of something that I'm not for the sole purpose of advertisements......never signed a release for use. Can there be any recourse for compensation

You may be owed compensation fo rthe commercia luse of your image. The photo belongs to the photographer. That may sound like splitting hairs, but it matters. Photos are easily copied and reproduced these days, so the image is where the value is.

Showing that you deserve money is one thing, collecting it is another. There are some steps you need to take to collect. These are too numerous and complex to explain here. Consult directly with an attorney that you can provide more detail to.

Good Luck
