Termination of Employment

Former Employer is asking for a signed termination letter before releasing last paycheck. Is this legal in Kansas?

Company had no Employee Handbook at the time of termination.

It is very likely illegal. There is a state law that demands payment of a final check and it does not allow this kind of requirement.
