Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Kansas
Dogs not on lease!
There are 2 large dogs in an apt. upstairs from me, they prevent me from sleeping all night with the noise. The landlord wasn't aware they had 2 dogs and was a no no to have them. I asked the landlord to do something about it and nothing has happened yet. I have 7 months left on my lease. Am I obligated to my lease if the dogs don't go. I was here before them. Thank you,

Re: Dogs not on lease!
If you inform the landlord that you believe their refusal to maintain the peace in the complex and failure to enforce the pet policies, is a breach of your rental agreement, they might be more likely to deal with the dogs. They don't likely want to give you grounds for moving out without owing anymore money.
If the dogs bark at night, you can call the police or animal control officers to come investigate.
