Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Kansas

Hello, I live in Overland Park, KS (66221). I rent from an owner-occupant in a house. Two days ago the owner-occupant informed me that the property was being foreclosed upon. I am on a month-to-month lease. I was reading through the Protecting Tenants at Foreclosure Act of 2009. Does this apply to my situation and if so could you explain? Also, how long until I would have to legally vacate the property? I believe the property is for sale at court steps mid-February. Thanks for your help.

A month to month tenant is only protected until the end of the lease. If the landlord til you by February 1st, your tenency ends on February 28th. If you're not out by then, you may power rent plus penalties to the new owner. If the landlord told you after the first of the month, your lesser goes to the end of March.

Good luck
