If you are foolsih enough to pay it, a landlord can charge whatever they want. the question is what can they enforce in court. Few, if any judges allow plaintiffs to collect late charges on late charges, if you contest it. this is not alway sthe case with credit carda, Tell your landlord (in writing) that you will pay the correct late charges,but not penalty late charges on late charges. Keep a copy of the letter you send to them.
