Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Kansas

I moved in with my best friend back in Sept of 2010. I am not on the lease. She is moving out of state in a few weeks so I moved back in with my mom. She is refusing to give me the last few items that i have at the apartment. I asked her nicely and she still refuses. What can I do?

You can try hiring a lawyer to send a letter to your former roomate demanding the return of your items. You can call to see if a police officer will accompany you to retrieve your items. Other than that, you may have to file suit in small claims court.
