Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Kansas
rental property
We have just signed a rent to own contract to deed. The previous tenants have moved out and left things in the house along with 2 cars outside. What do we do about the cars sice they have been abondened?

Re: rental property
If you the rent to own contract is valid, and the agreement says nothing about abandoned property, you should take notes and pictures of all of the abandoned property. Store the notes and pictures in case you need them later. Then offer to let the owner/seller of the house pick up the cars and property. If they opt not to after a reasonable time, you may get rid of the property or use it. If you do not have an agreement with the previous tenants, you do not owe them the same access to the premises that the owner/seller did.
Good Luck
