Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Kansas

We live in Kansas and put earnest money down on a house we liked, The inspection showed a bad foundation with mold as well as electrical outlet issues.and we told the sellers we could not buy the house like that and that the bank would not lend us the money on the house unless it was repaired which was estimated at 15,000. They admitted to knowing about the electrical issues and did not inform us of them unstil inspector had already informed us and went along to say that is why they warned us not to get a home inspection. they say they are keeping the earnest money because we breeched the contract. We are obviously young, naive, and do not have a real estate agent. Are we out the money or do we have legal recourse? Also wouldnt the fact that they knew about issues and did not disclose this wouldnt that be considered fraudulent concealment.

under the facts you described, it sounds like you are owed some money. If the seller had a broker or licensed agent, that person may owe you some money too. I suggest you consult directly with a civil practice attorney in your area.

Good luck
