Quitclaim Deed Form
I live in California and am trying to deed over a cemetery plot in Kansas. Do I need to use a Kansas form and if so would I be able to have it notarized in Calif.?

Hopefully you'll get an answer from a Kansas-based attorney, but from a California lawyer's point of view and knowledge, I'd say use a Kansas form, but having it notarized in California should be OK. I wonder if there are special requirements in KS for tranferring cemetery plots.....perhaps having to do with proper legal descriptions because of the way they are subdivided and described. Perhaps the cemetery operator could provide some guidance with a phone call or e-mail.

You need to consult with a Kansas attorney, but you will need to use Kansas forms. There is no reason that you can't have it notarized in California.

Yes you can get it notarized in CA. Probably a Quitclaim deed is a Quitclaim deed and not special form is required. That being said, contact by phone or on the internet a Title Company active in Kansas. They usually have free downloadable forms available.
