Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Kansas
So I was renting a house with another person. In the lease agreement it states that we are to give the landlord 30 days notice prior to moving out. My roommate and I got into an argument 2 days ago and she told me that she wanted me gone. I left the house and went to a friends house and then went to work. When I returned to the rental property after work (12AM) I found all of my stuff that had once been in the main part of the house in boxes in the garage. My key for the front door no longer worked and she had placed a lock on a seperate door that leads from the garage area into the kitchen. So my family came and helped me move my stuff. Now she is saying that if I don't give her my half of the rent for the month she will sue. My question is based off of what has occured does she have the right to sue and if so would she win?

under the facts you describe, it appears that you may be owed some money. Your ex roomate may owe you for any loss of proerty, your portion of the security deposit, and any exigent housing expenses, such as hotel til you sign a lease on a new permanent residence.
Good luck
