Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Kansas

Is this enough for sex haras / hostile work envi?

I used to work for a telecom company in OP, KS. One of my supervisors would constantly made vulgar sexual comments and in one instance even sent me an instant message of a smiley face performing oral sex. This guy was supposed to be my lead, and if I had any questions he was who I had to go to. When I asked him a question pretaining to my work, he sent me a picture of a smiley face performing oral sex.

I printed out the correspondence and immediately complained to our manager about it. I even gave him a copy of the message.

No action was ever taken, and my working environment became increasingly hostile. I sent myself a screen capture of the message from my lead.

I was harassed daily, and it effected my job performance and my health. The worst part though is that I was let go after 90 days and they wouldn't tell me why.

I've e-mailed other legal blogs and no one has yet to reply with anything. Could someone please help me out and point me in the right direction. I tried going to my manager to correct the problem and he did nothing, now I don't have a job, and I loved that job. What should I do? Is having solid documentation of my leads sexual advances good enough? If so what do I do w/ it.

Re: Is this enough for sex haras / hostile work envi?

It might very well be enough. The conduct that constitutes hostile work environment must be severe or pervasive. With your facts, it is hard to say because you have not listed all things that occurred that you consider to be hostile. If you want to pursue a charge, you must file with the EEOC within 300 days from when the conduct occurred. Of course, you are welcome to call my office and discuss these issues.
