doctrine of ill-founded confidence

Can a telephone call be recorded without the caller's knowledge, based on the above doctrine? Where could I find a copy of the doctrine?

Re: doctrine of ill-founded confidence

some states do not allow such conduct, however, MOST others follow federal law and allow only "one party consent" to make such a recording. this means if the OTHER party at issue here tape recorded your conversation without your knowledge, but was an actual participant in the conversation, he/she may legally do so. for more information regarding your state's laws on this matter, simply type in "state by state telephone recording laws" on a search engine, and you should be directed to the specific information you seek.
