If you are convicted or plead guilty to DWS in Douglas County KS, you will serve at least two days in jail and pay a large fine (usually $500). In addition, your privilege to drive can be affected and your insurance rates could increase.
I suggest you get an attorney and plead not guilty. When I handle these cases, I work with the Dept. of Revenue to see if the client can get their license reinstated; as a client who comes to court with a valid license has much more leverage than someone with a suspended license.
Feel free to contact me if I can be of further assistance.
